The proposed project aims to capitalise on existing knowledge while focusing on generating new knowledge on novel aquaculture systems by introducing integration with livestock and bio-energy. Strategies will include joint curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate courses, summer school short courses for capacity building of staff and students in advanced partner institutions, development of aquaculture infrastructure in higher academic institutions in East Africa and establishing linkages with industry.
